This site was started by an Iowa City mom and daycare provider after she heard many parents lament the availablity of local childcare information online. It is intended to be a community resource for parents and child care providers.

The goal of this site is not to endorse or recommend any facility or provider, but to give parents a chance to research and review their children's child care.

This site is legal under 47 USC Section 230, the federal law that permits many entities to "host" other people's content without being liable for defamation/libel etc. "By its plain language, Section 230 creates a federal immunity to any cause of action that would make service providers liable for information originating with a third-party user of the service." Zeran v. AOL, 129 F.3d 327, 330 (4th Cir. 1997).

We do ask, however, that you keep your comments respectful, whether they be positive or negative.

If you are a center director or home child care provider and wish to have your center/name deleted from the listing, please use the "contact us" form. I would be happy to remove your name. Please do not ask me to remove only the negative reviews as this would negate the whole purpose of leaving reviews.
